Juveniles Take Center Stage On Saturday

On its penultimate live racing day of 2020 on Saturday, November 28, juveniles will be in the spotlight once again at Churchill Downs, as the Louisville, Ky. racetrack conducts its “Stars of Tomorrow II” program–a card made up exclusively of two-year-old races.
Saturday’s 12-race program for the juveniles features a pair of stakes races–the $200,000 Golden Rod Stakes (G2) for two-year-old fillies, and the $200,000 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2) for two-year-olds. Both races will be contested on the main track going eight and one half-furlongs.
Harold Lerner, LLC and Magdalena Racing’s Simply Ravishing, fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies’ (G1) in her last start at Keeneland on November 6, is the prohibitive even-money favorite in a field that attrcated nine entrants; jockey Robby Albarado will be aboard the bay daughter of Laoban for trainer Kenny McPeek.
In the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2), Cypress Creek, LLC and Arnold Bennew’s Keepmeinmind, second as a maiden in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) in his most recent outing, is the definitive 6-5 morning line choice; David Cohen has the call on the bay son of Laoban for trainer Robertino Diodoro.
