Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach jump-starts a weekend of live Thoroughbred racing action in South Florida with a customary 10-race program on tap at the historic racetrack on Friday, December 11.
The featured ninth race on the card is a $75,000 optional claiming, first-level allowance test for two-year-olds slated for an eight-furlong trip on the turf.
Sterling Racing, LLC’s Whatmakessammyrun, third in a $100,000 stakes race at Aqueduct on November 6, is the 2-1 morning line favorite in a field that attracted seven entrants. Jockey Luis Saez will be astride the two-year-old bay son of We Miss Artie for trainer George Weaver.
