Gulfstream Park jump starts a weekend of live Thoroughbred racing in South Florida on Friday, January 29 with a customary 10-race program on the agenda at the Hallandale Beach racetrack.

The featured ninth race on the card is a $75,000 optional claiming, first-level allowance contest for three-year-old fillies sprinting five-furlongs on the turf.

Tobey L. Morton’s Magical Soul, second against a similar field on New Year’s Day in her most recent start, has been installed as the 3-1 morning line favorite in a compact field of six. Jockey Junior Alvarado will be astride the three-year-old bay daughter of More Than Ready for trainer John Kimmel.
