Four Stakes On Tap On Stellar Saturday Card
A weekend of live Thoroughbred racing continues at Keeneland Race Course on Saturday, April 10 with a stellar 11-race card on tap featuring a quartet of stakes races–the $150,000 Ben Ali Stakes (G3), a nine-furlong dirt event for four-year-olds and upward, the $100,000 Giant’s Causeway Stakes for three-year-old fillies sprinting 5.5-panels on the turf, the $200,000 Stonestreet Lexington Stakes (G3) for three-year-olds slated for an eight and one half-furlong trip on the main track, and the $300,000 Coolmore Jenny Wiley Stakes (G1T), a mile and a sixteenth turf affair for fillies and mares four-years-old and upward.
In the Coolmore Jenny Wiley (G1T), the program’s crown jewel, Godolphin, LLC’s Micheline, winner of the Hillsborough Stakes (G2T) at Tampa Bay Downs in her last start on March 6, is the 2-1 morning line favroite in a well-matched, albeit compact, field of six. Luis Saez will be astride the bay daughter of Bernardini for trainer Michael Stidham.
