Royal Flag, Speech Face Off In Doubledogdare

Keeneland Race Course jump starts a weekend of Thoroughbred racing in Central Kentucky with a 10-race program on tap on Friday, April 16 at the historic Lexington, Ky. racetrack.
The featured ninth race on the card is the $100,000 Baird Doubledogdare Stakes (G3) for fillies and mares four-years-old and upward slated for an eight and one half-furlong trip on the main track.
Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Madaket Stables, LLC, and Heider Family Stables, LLC’s Speech–an open-length winner of the Central Bank Ashland Stakes (G1) at Keeneland last July–is the definitive 8-5 morning line favorite in a field that attracted six entrants. Hall of Fame jockey Javier Castellano has the call on the four-year-old daughter of Mr Speaker for trainer Michael McCarthy.
