Churchill Downs kicks off a weekend of live Thoroughbred racing action in Derby City with a nine-race program on the docket on Friday, May 7 at the historic Louisville, Ky. racetrack.
The featured eighth race on the card is a $102,000 first-level allowance event for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward sprinting five-furlongs on the Matt Winn Turf Course.
Patricias Hope, LLC’s Senora Roma, third in her turf debut at Keeneland on April 16, is the 5-2 morning line choice in a field that attracted 12 entrants. Jockey Florent Geroux will be astride the four-year-old daughter of Verrazano for trainer Larry Rivelli.
