A pair of stakes races are the highlights on the first “Downs After Dark” program of the 2021 Spring Meet at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, May 21. Post time for the first of 11 races under the Twin Spires is 6:00 P.M. (Eastern).

The sixth race on the card–the nominal feature–is the $150,000 Winning Colors Stakes (G3) for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward sprinting six-furlongs on the main track. The supporting black type event on the program is the $110,000 Keertana Stakes, a tweleve-furlong turf marathon for older fillies and mares.

In the Winning Colors Stakes (G3), Frank Fletcher Racing Operations’ Frank’s Rockette, second as the even-money choice in the Carousel Stakes at Oaklawn Park in her last start on April 10, is the 6-5 morning line choice in a compact field of six. Jockey Florent Geroux has the call of the four-year-old bay daughter of Into Mischief for trainer Bill Mott.

In the Keertana Stakes, Maram, LLC’s Delta’s Kingdom, who will try to have her picture taken for the first time since September of 2019, is the 5-2 morning line favorite in a field that attracted 10 entrants. Florent Greroux will be astride the five-year-old son of Animal Kingdom for Hall-of-Famer Billy Mott.
