Churchill Downs begins a weekend of live Thoroughbred racing action on Friday, May 28 with a customary nine-race program on the docket at the venerable Louisville, Ky. racetrack.

The eighth race on the card–the nominal feature–is an $75,000 optional claiming / entry level allowance contest for three-year-old fillies slated for an eight-furlong trip around one-turn on the main track.

Dream Team One Racing Stable’s Mucho Macho Momma, second in her first start against winners at Churchill Downs on April 30, is the tepid 4-1 morning line favorite in a field that attracted nine entrants. Jockey Tyler Gaffalione has the call on the three-year-old bay daughter of Mucho Macho Man for trainer Dallas Stewart.

Steam gave out a pair of winners on Thursday’s eight-race program at Churchill Downs and, as a result, 19 days into the 2021 Spring Meet in South Louisville, its top picks are winning at a 26 percent clip and have finished in the money 56 percent of the time.
