A nine-race Memorial Day program is on the docket at Churchill Downs on Monday, May 31–Military Appreciation Day at the historic Louisville, Ky. racetrack.

The seventh race on the card–the nominal feature–is a $62,500 optional claiming / second-tier allowance event for three-year-olds and upward slated for an 8.5-furlong trip on the Matt Winn Turf Course.

Team Valor International’s First Premio, a two-time winner on the grass under the Twin Spires, is the definitive 9-5 morning line favorite in a field that attracted eight entrants. Jockey Brian Hernandez, Jr. has the call on the seven-year-old chestnut son of Pure Prize for trainer Mark Casse.
