Ellis Park kicks off four days of live Thoroughbred racing action in the Tri-State Area with an eight-race program on the docket on Thursday, July 1 at the Henderson, Ky. racetrack.

The fourth race on the card–the nominal feature–is a 40,000 optional claiming / “money since” allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward going seven-furlongs on the main track.

Randall L. Bloch and Six Column Stable’s Letmeno, who will be making his first start in 2021 outside of stakes company, is the 9-5 morning line choice in a compact field of five. Julien Leparoux has the call on the four-year-old gray son of Twirling Candy for trainer Ian Wilkes.

30 Percent Win Clip At 2020 Summer Stand

Steam gave out 68 winners from 223 races at the 2020 summer stand at Ellis Park and had 152 of its top selections finish in the top three placings, which translates to a 30 percent win clip and an in the money ratio of 68 percent.
