Three Allowance Races In Spotlight On Saturday

An eight-race program featuring three allowance contests is on the docket on Saturday, July 10 at Ellis Park in Henderson, Ky., as a weekend of Thoroughbred racing action continues in the Tri-State area.
The third race on the card–the nominal feature–is a $40,000 optional claiming / “money since” allowance event for three-year-olds upward. Originally scheduled to be run on the turf, the race has been taken off the grass and will be contested at a 5.5-furlong trip on the main track.
Running The Dream Stables, LLC’s Spycraft–fourth in his most recent start at Churchill Downs on June 11–is the 8-5 morning line favorite in a field that attracted five entrants. Jockey Mitchell Murrill will be astride the four-year-old bay son of Discreet Cat for trainer Chris Hartman.
Top Picks Winning At 30 Percent Clip At Meet
Steam gave out one winner on Friday’s eight-race program at Ellis Park and, as a result, six days into the 2021 summer stand at the Pea Patch, its top picks are winning at a 30 percent clip and have finished in the money 70 percent of the time.
Post time for the first of eight races at Ellis Park on Saturday, July 10 is 12:50 P.M. (Central). Additionally, there is a $3,528 carryover in the $1 Super Hi-5 (8th race, 4:10 P.M. (Central) post time).
