Lady Edith Faces Seven Foes In Pea Patch Stakes

On Sunday, July 18, Ellis Park puts the finishing touches on weekend of Thoroughbred racing action in the Tri-State area with a customary eight-race program on the agenda at the Henderson, Ky. racetrack.

The featured seventh race on the card is the $60,000 Pea Patch Stakes for three-year-old fillies sprinting 5.5-furlongs on the turf.

Sandra New and J. David Richardson’s Lady Edith, winner of the Mamzelle Stakes at Churchill Downs in her penultimate start on May 8, is the 5-2 morning line favorite in a field that attracted eight entrants. Jockey Brian Hernandez, Jr. has the call on the three-year-old chestnut daughter of Street Boss for trainer Tommy Drury.

Six Winners On Saturday’s Program–$3.28 ROI
