Three Stakes On Tap On Closing Day
A 10-race program is on the agenda on Sunday, September 12 at Kentucky Downs, closing day of the 2021 FanDuel Meet at the all-turf gallops in Franklin, Ky.
The card is highlighted by three stakes races — the $500,000 Ainsworth Stakes for two-year-old fillies going six and one half-furlongs, the $500,000 Nelson’s Green Brier Whiskey Music City Stakes, a 6.5-furlong contest for three-year-old fillies, and the $550,000 Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward slated for a mile and five-sixteenths trip on the turf.
In the Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon–the card’s centerpiece–Godolphin, LLC’s Micheline, winner of the 2020 Dueling Grounds Oaks at Kentucky Downs–is the 7-2 morning line choice in a field that attracted 12 entrants.
