Seven Sprinter Showdown In Feature
The second of three “Twilight Thursday” programs jump starts the second week of the 2021 September Meet at Churchill Downs on September 23. Post time for the first of eight races at the historic Louisville, Ky. racetrack is 5:00 P.M. (Eastern).
The featured seventh race on the card is a $62,500 optional claiming / “two other than” allowance contest for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward sprinting six-furlongs on the main track.
Flurry Racing Stables, LLC, Titletown Racing, Starsky Weast, Rosemore Farm, Inc., and David Flannigan’s Perfect Happiness, who will try to garner her first win of 2021, is the 2-1 morning line choice in a field that attracted seven entrants. Jockey Florent Geroux has the call on the four-year-old bay daughter of Majesticperfection for trainer Brad Cox.
Steam Touts Four Winners On Sunday’s Card
Steam gave out four winners on Sunday’s 10-race program at Churchill Downs and, as a result, four days into the 2021 September Meet, its top picks are winning at a 23 percent clip and have finished in the money 46 percent of the time.
Additionally on Thursday’s card, there is a $39,595 carryover in the 20-cent Derby City 6 (races 3-8, 5:58 P.M. (Eastern) post time).
Live racing will be conducted under the Twin Spires in September on Thursdays through Sundays through October 2 with a daily post time of 12:45 P.M. (Eastern). Exceptions include a 5:00 P.M. (Eastern) first post on Thursday, September 30.
