Fall Stars Weekend–a plethora of 10 stakes races worth $3.65 million with Breeders’ Cup implications–kicks off Keeneland Race Course’s 17-day fall meet on Friday, October 8 at the venerable Lexington, Ky. racetrack.

The 10-race card is highlighted by a pair of graded stakes races–the $250,000 Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix Stakes (G2) for three-year-olds and upward sprinting six-furlongs on the main track, and the $4000,000 Darley Alcibiades Stakes (G1), an eight and one half-furlong dirt test for two-year-old fillies.

Paradise Farms Corp. and David Staudacher’s Special Reserve, a five-year-old bay son of Midshipman, is the prohibitive 9-5 morning line choice in the Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix Stakes (G2), which attracted a field of seven entrants. Jockey Joel Rosario will be astride the five-year-old bay gelding for trainer Mike Maker.

In the Darley Alcibiades (G1), which attracted a full field of 12, Albaugh Family Stables, LLC’s Juju’s Map, a $300,000 filly who will tackle winners for the first time, is the 5-2 morning line favorite. Florent Geroux has the call on the bay daughter of Liam’s Map for trainer Brad Cox.

Trainer Brad Cox, who has four entrants on opening day, annexed the training title last October in Lexington, Ky., sending out 15 winners.

Post time for the first of 10 races on Friday, October 8 is 1:00 P.M. (Eastern). Additionally, there is a $200,000 guaranteed pool in the 50-cent late Pick 4 (Races 7-10, 4:30 P.M. (Eastern) post time) presented by Television Games Network (TVG).
