Campanelle Gets Nod In Franklin County

Keeneland Race Course jump starts a weekend of Thoroughbred racing action in Central Kentucky on Friday, October 15 with a 10-race program on the agenda at the historic Lexington, KY racetrack.

The featured ninth race on the card is the $150,000 Buffalo Trace Franklin County Stakes (G3T) for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward sprinting 5.5-furlongs on the Haggin Turf Course.

Stonestreet Stables, LLC’s Campanelle (Ire), who will be making her first start since finishing last as the favorite in the Prix Maurice de Gheest Stakes (Gr. 1T) at Deauville, France on August 8, is the tepid 7-2 morning line choice in a full field of 11. Jockey Joel Rosario has the call on the three-year-old bay daughter of Kodiac (GB) for trainer Wesley Ward.

Quartet Of Winners On Thursday’s Program

Steam gave out four winners on Thursday’s 10-race program at Keeneland and, as a result, five days into the 2021 fall stand, its top picks are winning at a 35 percent clip and have finished in the money 63 percent of the time.
