A nine-race program is on the agenda on Wednesday, December 15 at Gulfstream Park, as the Hallandale Beach, Fla. racetrack jump starts a five-day week of Thoroughbred racing action.

The eighth race on the card–the nominal feature– is a $25,000 optional claiming/first-tier allowance affair for three-year-olds and upward sprinting five-furlongs on the turf.

R.A. Hill Stable and Gastas Stables’ Kasim, an open-length winner in his last start at Presque Isle Downs on September 29, is the 5-2 morning line choice in a compact field of six. Tyler Gaffalione has the call on the three-year-old chestnut son of Munnings for trainer Danny Gargan.

Steam gave out a pair of winners on Sunday’s 10-race program at Gulfstream Park and, as a result, eight days into the 2021-22 Championship Meet in South Florida, its top picks are winning at a 27 percent clip and have finished in the money 63 percent of the time.
