A 10-race program is on tap at Gulfstream Park on Friday, January 14, as the Hallandale Beach, Fla. racetrack kicks off a weekend of live Thoroughbred racing action.

The featured ninth race on the card is a $12,500 optional claiming / first-tier allowance event for Florida-bred fillies and mares four-years-old and upward sprinting 5.5-furlongs on the main track.

Jacks or Better Farm, Inc.’s American of Course–a game third in her most recent start off a near four-month layoff–is the 9-5 morning line favorite in a field that attracted seven entrants. Jockey Tyler Gaffalione has the call on the five-year-old chestnut daughter of Awesome of Course for trainer Kathleen O’Connell.
