Federalist Papers Gets Nod Off Shelf In Feature

Nine races are on the docket at Gulfstream Park on Thursday, February 10, as a five-day week of live Thoroughbred racing action continues at the historic Hallandale Beach, Fla. racetrack.

The seventh race on the card–the nominal feature–is a $35,000 optional claiming/first-tier allowance contest for fillies and mares four-years-old and upward. Originally scheduled for the turf, the race has been taken off the grass and will be conested at an “about” 12-furlong journey on Gulfstream’s all-weather Tapeta surface.

Klaravich Stables, Inc.’s Federalist Papers, who will be making her seasonal debut off a near three-month layoff, is the 5-2 morning line choice in a field that was scratched down to six entrants. Irad Ortiz, Jr. has the call on the four-year-old bay daughter of More Than Ready for trainer Chad Brown.

Seven Wins On Wednesday’s Card — $5.23 ROI
