Churchill Downs jump starts a weekend of live Thoroughbred racing action in Derby City with a nine-race program on tap on Friday, May 13 at the historic Louisville, KY racetrack.
The featured eighth race on the card is an $80,000 optional claiming/third-tier allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward slated for an 8.5-furlong trip on the main track.
Woodford Thoroughbreds, LLC, WinStar Farm, LLC, and Rock Ridge Racing, LLC’s Promise Keeper–third in the New Orleans Classic Stakes (G3) in his last start on March 26–is the 5-2 morning line favorite in a well-matched field that attracted 10 entrants.
