11-races are on tap at Churchill Downs on Sunday, June 19, as the historic racetrack closes out an abbreviated three-day week of Thoroughbred racing in Louisville, KY.
The tenth race on the card–the nominal feature–is an $80,000 optional claiming, entry-level allowance contest for three-year-olds slated for a seven-furlong journey on the main track.
Gary and Mary West’s Open Road, who broke his maiden at first-asking under the Twin Spires on May 20, and Klaravich Stables, Inc.’s Money Supply, third in his last start at Churchill Downs on May 7, are the tepid 9-2 co-favorites on the morning line in a field that attracted 12 entrants. Ricardo Santana, Jr. will be astride Open Road for trainer Brad Cox, and jockey David Cohen has the call on Money Supply for trainer Chad Brown.
