Good Measure Holds All Aces In Friday’s Feature
Churchill Downs jump starts a weekend of Thoroughbred racing in Derby City with a customary nine-race program on tap on Friday, June 24 at the venerable Louisville, KY racetrack.
The fourth race on the card–the nominal feature–is a $127,00 first-tier allowance event for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward slated for a 12-furlong journey on the main track.
Glenangus Farm, LLC’s Good Measure, second in her most recent start in a sloppy off-the-turf event under the Twin Spires on May 26, is the definitive 9-5 morning line favorite in a compact field of five. Jockey Mickaelle Michel, a champion apprentice rider in her native France, has the call on the four-year-old bay daughter of Smarty Jones for trainer Graham Motion.
