Seven To Go Postward In Ellis Park Turf Stakes
Nine races are on the agenda at Ellis Park on Sunday, July 17, as the Henderson, KY racetrack closes out a three-day run of Thoroughbred racing.
The featured eighth race on the program is the $75,000 Ellis Park Turf Stakes Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, an 8.5-furlong turf test for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward.
Randall L. Bloch and Six Column Stable’s Market Rumor, seventh in the Mint Julep Stakes (G3T) in her last start at Churchill Downs on June 5, is the 9-5 morning line choice in a field that attracted seven entrants. Jockey Chris Landeros has the call on the five-year-old bay daughter of Afleet Alex for trainer Ian Wilkes.

Steam touted two winners on Saturday’s nine-race program at Ellis Park and, as a result, five days into the 2022 summer stand at the Pea Patch, its top picks are winning at a 26 percent clip and have finished in the money 67 percent of the time.
