Nine-races are on the agenda at Ellis Park on Sunday, July 31, as the Henderson, KY racetrack closes out a three-day run of live Thoroughbred racing in the Tri-State Area.

The featured eighth race on the card is a $61,000 entry-level allowance contest for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward sprinting six-furlongs on the main track.

Fred Hertrich, III and John D. Fielding’s Wings of an Angel, third in her most recent start at Ellis Park on July 15, is the 5-2 morning line choice in a field that attracted seven entrants. Jockey Gabriel Saez has the call on the four-year-old daughter of Quality Road for trainer Larry Jones.

Four Winners On Saturday’s Card–$2.89 ROI 

Steam touted four winners and had a return on investment (ROI*) of $2.89 for each $2 wagered on its top picks on Saturday’s nine-race program at Ellis Park and, as a result, 11 days into the summer stand at the Pea Patch, its top selections are winning at a 31 percent clip and have finished in the money 66 percent of the time.

Racing will be conducted at Ellis Park July 8-August 28, Fridays through Sundays. There will be no racing on August 13 to accommodate a one-day program at Churchill Downs.
