Four Turf Stakes On Tap On Sunday’s Card
Nine-races featuring four $100,000 turf stakes are on tap at Ellis Park on Sunday, August 7, as the Henderson, KY racetrack closes out a three-day run of Thoroughbred racing in the Tri-State Area.
The $100,000 Twin Spires Turf Sprint–a 5.5-furlong contest for three-year-olds and upward–kicks off the stakes action in the sixth race, followed by the Centennial Distaff Turf Mile Presented By Exacta Systems, for fillies and mares three-year-old and upward, the Laguna Distaff Turf Sprint for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward, and the Evan Williams Turf Mile for three-year-olds and upward.
Steam Sports 30% Win Clip At Summer Stand
Steam gave out one winner on Friday’s eight-race program at Ellis Park and, as a result, 14 days into the 2022 summer meet at the Pea Patch, its top picks are winning at a 30 percent clip and have finished in the money 63 percent of the time.
Live racing will be conducted at Ellis Park July 8-August 28, Fridays through Sundays. There will be no racing on August 13 to accommodate a one-day program at Churchill Downs.
