Five Graded Stakes Highlight Saturday’s Card

The 2022 renewal of Fall Stars weekend–11 stakes races over a three-day period, several with Breeders’ Cup “Win And You’re In” implications–continues at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, KY on Saturday, October 8 with an 11-race program featuring five graded stakes on tap at the historic Central Kentucky racetrack.

The card features three grade one events–the $750,000 First Lady Stakes (G1T) presented by UK Healthcare for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going a flat-mile trip on the grass, the $600,000 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1) for two-year-olds slated for an eight and one half-furlong trip on the main track, and the $1 million Coolmore Turf Mile (G1T) for three-year-olds and upward slated for an eight-furlong trip over the Haggin Turf Course.

Other supporting stakes on the docket include the $350,000 Woodford Stakes (G2T) presented by FanDuel for three-year-olds and upward sprinting five and one half-furlongs on the grass, and the $350,000 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes (G2) for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward sprinting six-furlongs on the main track.

Five Figure Carryover In Saturday’s Pick Six

Steam gave out one winner on Friday’s 10-race program at Keeneland and, as a result, one day into the nascent 2022 fall stand in Lexington, KY, its top selections are winning at a 10 percent clip and have finished in the money 10 percent of the time.

Additionally on Saturday’s card, there is a $33,629 carryover in the $1 Pick 6 (races 5-10, 3:06 P.M. (Eastern) post time), and a $8,991 carryover in the $1 Super Hi-5 (11th race, 6:18 P.M. (Eastern) post time).
