Twilight Gleaming Tepid Favorite In Franklin

Keeneland Race Course closes out a five-day week of Thoroughbred racing action in the Bluegrass State with a customary nine-race program on the docket on Sunday, October 16 at the historic Lexington, KY racetrack.

The featured seventh race on the card is the $300,000 Franklin Stakes (G3T) for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward sprinting 5.5-furlongs on the Haggin Turf Course.

Stonestreet Stables, LLC’s Twilight Gleaming (Ire), winner of the Daisycutter Stakes at Del Mar in her last start on July 29, is the tepid 7-2 morning line choice in a field that attracted 12 entrants. Hall-of-Fame jockey John Velazquez will be astride the bay daughter of National Defense (GB) for trainer Wesley Ward.

Seven days into the 2022 fall stand in Lexington, KY, Steam‘s top selections are winning at a 17 percent clip and have finished in the money 51 percent of the time.
