Churchill Downs begins an abbreviated three-day week of Thoroughbred racing action on Wednesday, November 2 with a customary 10-race program on the docket at the Louisville, KY racetrack. There will be on live racing on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5, as when Keeneland Race Course will be hosting the Breeders’ Cup.
The featured eighth race on the card is a $80,000 optional claiming/second-tier allowance affair for three-year-olds and upward slated for a 12-furlong journey on the main track.
September Farm, LLC et al’s Western River, fourth in the Greenwood Cup Stakes (G3) at Parx Racing on September 24, is the 5-2 morning line choice in a field that attracted eight entrants. Jockey Ricardo Santana, Jr. has the call on the three-year-old gray son of Tapit for trainer Rodolphe Brisset.
