Four Stakes On Tap On Saturday In Louisville

Churchill Downs’ “Stars of Tomorrow II” program–a card devoted exclusively to two-year-old racing–is on the docket on Saturday, November 26, the penultimate day of the 2022 fall meet in Louisville, KY.

Saturday’s 12-race program for the juveniles features four stakes races–the $200,000 Fern Creek Stakes for two-year-old fillies sprinting 6.5-furlongs on the main track, the $200,000 Ed Brown Stakes, a 6.5-furlong dirt affair for two-year-olds, the $400,000 Golden Rod Stakes (G2) for two-year-old fillies slated for an 8.5-furlong trip on the dirt, and the $400,000 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2) for two-year-olds going a mile and a sixteenth on the main track.

Gold Standard Racing Stable, LLC’s Hoosier Philly, an open-length winner of the Rags to Riches Stakes under the Twin Spires on October 30, is the definitive even-money morning line favorite for the Golden Rod Stakes (G2), which attracted a field of nine entrants. Jockey Edgar Morales has the call on the gray daughter of Into Mischief for trainer Tom Amoss.

In the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2), Gold Square,LLC’s Instant Coffee, fourth in the Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1) at Keeneland in his last start on October 8, is the 5-2 morning line choice in a field of nine. Luis Saez has the call on the son of Bolt d’Oro for trainer Brad Cox.

Steam Touts Three Winners On Friday’s Program

Steam gave out three winners on Friday’s 12-race program at Churchill Downs and, as a result, heading into the final two days of the 2022 fall stand in Derby City, its top picks are winning at a 22 percent clip and have finished in the money 55 percent of the time.

Post time for the first of 12 races at Churchill Downs on Saturday, November 26 is 1:00 P.M. (Eastern). Additionally, there is a $14,368 carryover in the 20-cent Derby City 6 Jackpot (races 7-12, 3:57 P.M. (Eastern) post time).
