The black type action begins in the seventh race with the $100,000 Dania Beach Stakes, a one-mile turf contest for three-year-olds, and continues in the ninth race with the $100,000 Ginger Brew Stakes, an eight-furlong turf affair for three-year-old fillies.
In the Dania Beach Stakes, Spendthrift Farm, LLC’s Major Dude, ninth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1T) in his last start at Keeneland on November 4, is the definitive 8-5 morning line favorite in a field that attracted seven entrants. Jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. will be astride the bay son of Bolt d’Oro for trainer Todd Pletcher.
In the Ginger Brew Stakes, Repole Stable and Town and Country Racing, LLC’s Cairo Consort, third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1T) in her last start at Keeneland on November 4, is the prohibitive 7-5 morning line favorite in a field that attracted eight entrants. Jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. has the call on the gray daughter of Cairo Prince for trainer Todd Pletcher.
