A customary nine-race program is on the agenda on Wednesday, February 1 at Gulfstream Park, as the Hallandale Beach, Fla. racetrack jump starts a five-day week of Thoroughbred racing in the Sunshine State.
The fifth race on the card–the nominal feature–is a $35,000 optional claiming/$35,000 starter allowance contest for three-year-old fillies slated for an 8.5-furlong trip on the turf.
Reeves Thoroughbred Racing’s Artifact (GB), who broke her maiden in her first start on the grass at Gulfstream Park on January 5, is the tepid 4-1 morning line favorite in a field that attracted 10 entrants. Jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. has the call on the bay daughter of Iffraaj (GB) for trainer Antonio Sano.
Steam Touts Three Winners On Sunday’s Card
