Sophomores In Spotlight On Saturday

11-races featuring two stakes are on tap at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, March 25, as a weekend of Thoroughbred racing continues in South Florida.
The stakes action begins in the fourth race with the $100,000 Texas Glitter Stakes for three-year-olds and continues in the tenth race with the $100,000 Melody of Colors Stakes for three-year-olds fillies; both races are five-furlong sprints on the turf.
In the Texas Glitter Stakes, Michael Dubb and Michael Caruso’s Dr Oseran, who has annexed his past two starts at Gulfstream Park, is the 8-5 morning line favorite in a field that attracted seven entrants. Jockey Jose Ortiz, Jr. will be astride the bay son of Kitten’s Joy for trainer Christophe Clement.
In the Melody of Colors Stakes, C T R Stables, LLC’s Sassy Nature–who won her turf debut by open lengths at Gulfstream Park on March 1–is the tepid 7-2 morning line choice in a field that attracted 10 entrants. Julien Leparoux has the call on the daughter of Straight Fire for trainer Jack Sisterson.
