The second “Twilight Thursday” of the 2023 Spring Meet jump starts four days of Thoroughbred racing at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY on Thursday, May 18. The eight-race program has a later than normal 5:00 P.M. (Eastern) post time.
The featured seventh race on the card is an $80,000 optional claiming, second-tier allowance event for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward slated for an 8.5-furlong journey over the Matt Winn Turf Course.
G. Watts Humphrey, Jr.’s She’s Gone, fifth in her most recent start at Keeneland on April 22, is the tepid 5-1 morning line favorite in a field that attracted 11 entrants. Jockey Rafael Bejarano will be astride the four-year-old bay daughter of Curlin for trainer Victoria Oliver.
